Jari L. Rubio

Originally from Las Cruces, Jari L. Rubio graduated with honors from New Mexico State University with Bachelor degrees in psychology and political science, and from the University of New Mexico School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. During law school, Ms. Rubio was a member of the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition and acted as the Student Bar Association’s Faculty Representative.  While staffing UNM Law’s Natural Resources and Environmental Law Clinic, Ms. Rubio negotiated with the New Mexico Environment Department to expand its Limited English Proficiency Policy and drafted a water rights bulletin on behalf of a Latino and Indigenous farmer audience.  Ms. Rubio published her 2021 case note with the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law.

Ms. Rubio’s professional history includes clerking for a well-respected civil litigation firm in Albuquerque, interning with the New Mexico Center for Law and Poverty, and staffing UNM Law’s Natural Resources and Environmental Law Clinic. Ms. Rubio’s current practice areas include civil litigation and medical malpractice defense.
